Microsites

Depending on your Govstack plan, you may have the ability to create microsites within the content management system (CMS). If you don't have the option to create microsites and you would like to learn more, please reach out to your GHD Digital Account Executive, or contact us via our support portal.

Govstack microsites

With the Govstack CMS, you have the capability to create two different kinds of microsites; an integrated microsite and a standalone microsite.

Integrated microsites

An integrated microsite exists within your primary website and shares the same:

  • Domain (i.e., municipality.com/tourism)
  • Visual theme
  • Primary navigation.

Standalone microsites

A standalone microsite exists separate from your primary website. It can either share the same domain (i.e., municipality.com/tourism) or have its own domain (i.e., www.municipalitytourism.com). It will also have its own visual theme and navigation.

What is a microsite?

A microsite is a small, contained collection of pages, meant to mimic the look and feel of a standalone website. Often, microsites educate a specific target audience on a particular topic, such as:

  • Tourism
  • Economic development
  • Fire and emergency services
  • Transit
  • A special project or initiative
